Overview
Conduct a comprehensive analysis of staff selection and appointments for specific UN Department posts at P-5 to D-2 levels, focusing on diversity indicators and adherence to organizational policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct a comprehensive analysis of staff selection and appointments for posts at P-5 to D-2 levels made between 1 July 2019 and 31 December 2025.
- Focus on diversity indicators, such as nationality and gender, and assess whether hiring practices were in accordance with the Organization’s policies.
- Carry out a statistical review of all applicants, examining progression through each stage of the hiring process.
- Categorize results by posting level, type of job opening, job family, and duration of appointment(s).
- Where applicable, review the composition and actions of the hiring team, interview-panel members, and Hiring Managers.
- Indicate whether selected candidates were internal or external.
- Prepare a report summarizing statistical information and assessing hiring practices.
Required Experience
- A minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in human resources, conducting recruitment using the staff selection system at the United Nations is required.
- Practical experience analyzing large data sets including visualization using Excel or Power BI in preparing reports is required.
- Knowledge of UN Secretariat human resources policies and procedures related to staff selection.
Qualifications
- Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent degree) in human resources management, business or public administration or a related area is required.
- A first-level university degree (Bachelor's degree or equivalent) in combination with two years of relevant work experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
