Conduct a comprehensive analysis of staff selection and appointments for specific UN Department posts at P-5 to D-2 levels, focusing on diversity indicators and adherence to organizational policies.


Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct a comprehensive analysis of staff selection and appointments for posts at P-5 to D-2 levels made between 1 July 2019 and 31 December 2025.
  • Focus on diversity indicators, such as nationality and gender, and assess whether hiring practices were in accordance with the Organization’s policies.
  • Carry out a statistical review of all applicants, examining progression through each stage of the hiring process.
  • Categorize results by posting level, type of job opening, job family, and duration of appointment(s).
  • Where applicable, review the composition and actions of the hiring team, interview-panel members, and Hiring Managers.
  • Indicate whether selected candidates were internal or external.
  • Prepare a report summarizing statistical information and assessing hiring practices.
Required Experience
  • A minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in human resources, conducting recruitment using the staff selection system at the United Nations is required.
  • Practical experience analyzing large data sets including visualization using Excel or Power BI in preparing reports is required.
  • Knowledge of UN Secretariat human resources policies and procedures related to staff selection.
Qualifications
  • Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent degree) in human resources management, business or public administration or a related area is required.
  • A first-level university degree (Bachelor's degree or equivalent) in combination with two years of relevant work experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.

• Fluency in spoken and written English is required.
Languages Preferred
• Knowledge of an additional official UN language is an advantage.
