Overview

This internship supports the operational and administrative implementation of UNEP's Medium-term Strategy and Programme of Work within the Procurement and Partnerships Unit. The role focuses on the implementation of partnership policies and procedures, including due diligence and oversight of partners.


Key Responsibilities
  • Provide support in processing partnerships workflows, including liaising with colleagues across divisions and regional offices.
  • Assist in the preparation of guidelines, training materials, workshop materials, templates, and presentations and related infographics and visual aids.
  • Research, compile, analyze, summarize, and present basic information/data on specific partners, corporate policies and related topics, using various sources.
  • Prepare, maintain, and update files (electronic and paper) and internal databases.
  • Support inter-agency coordination and knowledge-sharing, including collecting best practices and case-studies.
  • Support integration and updating of various digital tools.
  • Assist in organizing meetings, workshops, and training sessions, including logistical arrangements, visual aids and documentation.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Experience

Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience.

Qualifications

Diploma or bachelor’s degree in business administration, social sciences, law or related disciplines. Applicants must meet one of the following requirements: (a) be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); (b) be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent). Applicants must be a student in the final year of the first university degree (bachelor or equivalent), Master’s or Ph.D. Programme or equivalent, or have completed a Bachelor’s, Master’s or PH.D. Programme. Applicants should have good knowledge of standard software applications, especially MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and MS Teams.

Fluency in spoken and written English is required for the internship.
Languages Preferred
Knowledge of an additional official UN language is an advantage.

Remuneration
Interns are not financially remunerated by the United Nations. Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions.
