Overview

This internship position is located within the Office of the Director in the UN Division of Healthcare Management and Occupational Safety and Health (DHMOSH). The role assists in the development of health-related SOPs, IT projects, policy monitoring, document preparation, research, reporting, and event organization.


Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in development of critical health-related SOPs, plans and guidelines for DHMOSH in UNHQ and field duty stations;
  • Assist in IT-related projects, including preparing and analyzing health related data set of DHMOSH;
  • Contribute to the monitoring of latest health policy developments relevant for DHMOSH;
  • Provide assistance in preparing, proofreading grammar, reviewing style and editing official documents, ensuring accuracy and consistency;
  • Conduct research, including locating documents, policies, and internet searches;
  • Assist with reporting, drafting and editing of content for print, web and multimedia, events and publications;
  • Assist in organizing special events and meetings;
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint Outlook)
  • Assist in conducting research on other matters related to the work of DHMOSH;
  • Perform any other duties as requested by the supervisor.
Required Experience

No working experience is required to apply for the United Nations Internship Programme.

Qualifications
  • Be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher);
  • Be enrolled in, or have completed, the FINAL academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor's level or equivalent).

Languages Required
Fluency in spoken and written English is required for the internship.
Languages Preferred
Knowledge of French is desirable. Knowledge of an additional UN language is an asset.

Remuneration
The internship is UNPAID. Interns are not financially remunerated by the United Nations. Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions.
