Overview

The internship provides administrative and operational assistance to ensure the effective implementation of programme activities within the UNODC Programme Office in Uganda.


Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in providing administrative and logistical support for programme implementation.
  • Support the preparation of administrative documents, correspondence, and official communications.
  • Assist in maintaining filing systems and programme documentation.
  • Support travel arrangements.
  • Provide support in tracking administrative actions.
  • Assist in preparing basic reports and documentation.
  • Support coordination between programme and operations teams.
  • Assist in the organization and coordination of meetings, workshops, training sessions, and consultations.
  • Support logistical arrangements.
  • Assist in preparing meeting minutes and summaries.
  • Assist in managing office records, files, and documentation.
  • Provide general administrative support to the programme team.
  • Perform any other related tasks.
Qualifications
  • Be enrolled in, or have recently completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher).
  • Be enrolled in, or have recently completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent).
  • Have good knowledge of standard software applications, especially MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and MS Teams.
  • Have a demonstrated keen interest in the work of the United Nations and have a personal commitment to the ideals of the Charter.
  • Have a demonstrated ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs.
  • Preferably in the area of business administration, public administration, management, international relations, social sciences, or related fields.
Other Details
Languages Required
• Fluency in spoken and written English is required.
Languages Preferred
• Knowledge of an additional official UN language is an advantage.

Remuneration
Interns are not financially remunerated by the United Nations. Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions.
