Overview
The UNV Expert in information management, monitoring, and reporting for child protection will support UNICEF Colombia in implementing humanitarian actions and development programs. The role focuses on managing information, monitoring activities, and producing reports to ensure the protection of children's rights.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, adjust, and implement standardized information management structures for child protection and child development humanitarian actions.
- Produce analytical inputs for decision-making, including needs assessments and dashboards.
- Support the preparation, execution, and documentation of sectoral, intersectoral, and population needs analyses.
- Build and agree on a monitoring framework with technical indicator sheets, tracking matrices, and data collection instruments.
- Conduct field monitoring to verify activity implementation, service quality, and feedback mechanisms.
- Prepare periodic reports (weekly, monthly, quarterly, or semi-annually) with quantitative, qualitative, and mixed data.
- Develop products for corporate platforms and humanitarian documents.
- Apply mechanisms for consistency, verification, traceability, and reconciliation of data.
- Propose guidelines for quality assurance in humanitarian settings, incorporating ethical principles.
- Coordinate with implementing partners, UNICEF staff, and humanitarian actors.
- Participate in inter-agency spaces, including Accountability and Impact Teams.
- Promote and implement technological solutions for information management.
- Assist the PM&E area of UNICEF in strengthening its integrated programmatic and results monitoring system.
Required Experience
- 7 years of relevant experience.
- Proven experience in designing and implementing situation analyses and needs assessments.
- Experience in planning, monitoring, and evaluating plans, programs, projects, and policies on child and adolescent rights, with a gender equality and non-discrimination approach.
- Experience in humanitarian monitoring and reporting, information management, and sectoral analysis oriented towards results and human rights, especially in child protection.
- Demonstrated knowledge in Core Commitments for Children (CCCs), Child Protection Area of Responsibility (CP AoR), Accountability to Affected Populations (AAP), Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA), as well as gender equality, child protection, and child development approaches.
- Desirable experience in managing and analyzing quantitative data, statistical and econometric models applied to social development and humanitarian action.
- Experience in producing and editing technical documents on child rights violations.
- Experience in field work in humanitarian and emergency contexts.
- Desirable experience in UN agencies, funds, or programs, or other international and national development or humanitarian organizations.
- Desirable experience in risk analysis associated with natural and anthropogenic disasters, as well as climate change adaptation.
- Ability to work and adapt professionally and effectively in a challenging environment.
- Ability to work effectively in a multicultural team of national and international staff.
- Skills in writing, critical analysis of quantitative and qualitative data, clear communication of ideas and action proposals, and report preparation.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in economics, political science, international relations, or similar.
