Overview
The Health and Nutrition Assistant - Information & Data will support UNICEF's programme in Mozambique by working on linkages across policies and interventions to ensure children's survival and thriving.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in the preparation of plans and prioritization of geographical areas and distribution of supplies, support data collection, and liaise with health authorities.
- Contribute to the design and preparation of Child Health and Nutrition (CHN) programme information management, including digitalization of systems.
- Participate in the preparation of contingency and emergency response plans.
- Participate in surveys and assessments to identify needs.
- Support programme/project development and planning.
- Participate in planning and monitoring of implementation, support data collection and compilation.
- Support monitoring and quality assurance of implemented activities.
- Support the drafting of monthly situation reports and compilation of 5W data.
- Support the monitoring of planned implementation of Mobile Brigades.
- Assess the quality of reported data related to health and nutrition indicators and inform stakeholders for corrective measures.
- Support programme officers and government staff with the use of new technology advanced tools.
- Support office colleagues by providing data and information.
- Support drafting lessons learned and documentation of Human-Interest Stories.
- Participate in and document meetings with government counterparts and partners.
- Participate in data discussion meetings.
- Apply and introduce innovative approaches for data gathering, management, and sharing.
- Develop and maintain interactive visualization interfaces and dashboards.
- Document the process and develop guidance notes/SOPs on timely entry and update of databases and dashboards.
- Prepare a manual to maintain dashboards and visualization tools.
- Act as the focal point for the CHN programme in regular meetings with ICT and Innovation Teams.
Required Experience
- 1 month required experience.
- Some experience in Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E), information management, data management, or another relevant field is desired.
- Experience working with the Ministry of Health of Mozambique (Ministério da Saúde de Moçambique, MISAU ) at the central and provincial levels is considered an asset.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Health, Statistics, M&E, Demography, or any other relevant field.
