Overview

The purpose of this internship is to support the RSCE Communications Unit in developing and implementing high-quality public information, multimedia products, strategic communication, and outreach initiatives.


Key Responsibilities
  • Provide support in the development of communication strategies.
  • Support the design and creation of multimedia products.
  • Leverage technology and social media networks.
  • Prepare press releases, media briefs, reports, newsletters, brochures, and RSCE visibility materials.
  • Identify key contacts and opportunities for strategic partnerships.
  • Support the implementation of marketing strategy.
  • Prepare production plans, write drafts, obtain clearances, finalize texts, edit and coordinate design approval, printing procedures and distribution.
  • Organize clearances, production and distribution of information material.
  • Assure alignment of digital products and campaigns to strategic communication and public information objectives.
  • Assist in the development of annual work plans.
  • Provide expertise and technical advice on information tools and communication strategies.
  • Communicate with clients, designers and planners.
  • Create a weekly schedule template.
Required Experience
  • No working experience is required to apply for the United Nations Internship Programme. Your training, education, course work or skills should benefit the United Nations during your internship.
  • Other internship experience in an office environment, especially in a public institution, international organization and/or non-governmental organization is desirable.
Qualifications
  • a) Be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school Programme (second year in university degree or equivalent, or higher) in Public Relations, Corporate Communications, Strategic Communications, Graphic Design, Videography, Journalism, Creative Writing, or related field; or
  • b) Be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum Bachelor's level or equivalent) in Public Relations, Corporate Communications, Strategic Communications, Graphic Design, Videography, Journalism, Creative Writing, or related field.

Languages Required
Fluency in oral and written English is required.
Languages Preferred
Knowledge of French is desirable.
Contract Duration
As soon as possible for 3 months, which may be extended to a maximum duration of six (6) months.

in person at the duty station
Remuneration
Interns are not financially remunerated by the United Nations. Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions.
