Overview
The Programme Finance Associate provides financial management support to the Programme Management Support Unit (PMSU) and promotes a client-oriented approach in line with UNDP rules and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Contributes to the review of Funds Authorization and Certificate of Expenditures (FACE) forms.
- Assists in preparing weekly Country Office programme delivery reports.
- Monitors project financial performance and reports inconsistencies.
- Supports the preparation and coordination of Harmonized Approach to Cash Transfers (HACT) assurance activities.
- Supports the monitoring of revenue application and allocation of funds.
- Contributes to the timely review of donor financial reports.
- Supports programme teams to ensure timely operational and financial closure of projects.
- Supports programme and project management to ensure appropriate application of implementation modalities.
- Contributes to the preparation of the Country Office Annual Work Plan (AWP) and Integrated Work Plan (IWP).
- Supports the review of Letters of Agreement (LoAs), Responsible Party Agreements (RPAs), and Low-Value Grants (LVGs).
- Assists the development of programme and project briefs, presentations, and donor engagement materials.
- Assists in organizing trainings for operations and project staff on programme finance and RBM-related processes.
- Supports the preparation of training materials and presentations.
- Contributes to knowledge sharing.
- Carries out additional responsibilities as assigned.
Required Experience
- Minimum of three years of programme finance and administrative experience is required at the national or international level.
- Strong skills in the usage of computers and office software packages, AI tools, and experience in handling web-based management systems is required.
- Experience in providing financial management, Resource Planning and Analysis, Quality assurance oversight and close monitoring of implementing partners.
- Attention to detail. Accuracy and professionalism in document production and editing.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Excellent oral and written skills; excellent drafting, formulating, and reporting skills.
- Ability to manage multi-task effectively and prioritize the tasks.
- Ability to work with minimum supervision; ability to work with tight deadlines.
- The incumbent must be a dynamic, multi-functional person, who supports UNDP with professionalism, dedication, and client orientation, and who must be willing both to work on programmatic/substantive aspects and to provide operational/logistical services.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration would be desirable.
