Overview
Provide professional technical, operational and administrative assistance for child protection in emergencies programmes/projects. Prepare, execute, manage, and implement programme tasks to facilitate development, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct and update situation analysis for programme development.
- Research and report on development trends and data.
- Contribute to programme goals, objectives, strategies, and results-based planning.
- Conduct rapid child protection assessments.
- Provide technical and operational support throughout programming processes.
- Prepare programme documentations, materials, and data.
- Provide technical support on UNICEF programming strategy documents.
- Work with colleagues and partners to discuss implementation issues and provide solutions.
- Monitor and report on the use of sectoral programme resources.
- Prepare regular programme/project reports.
- Conduct programme field visits, surveys, and assessments.
- Provide technical and operational support to government counterparts and partners.
- Support implementation of UNICEF’s CPiE programming.
- Build and sustain partnerships with government counterparts and national stakeholders.
- Participate in inter-agency meetings and collaborate on UNDAF planning.
- Lead the working group on case management.
- Research potential donors and prepare resource mobilization materials.
- Draft communication and information materials for programme advocacy.
- Identify, capture, synthesize, and share lessons learned.
- Apply innovative approaches and promote good practices.
- Research and report on best practices for knowledge products.
- Participate as a resource person in capacity building initiatives.
Required Experience
A minimum of two years of professional experience in social development planning and management in child protection in emergencies related areas is required. Experience in capacity development, building partnerships and providing technical support to governments, NGO partners and other relevant stakeholders to implement child protection policies, programmes and interventions.
Qualifications
A bachelor's degree in one of the following fields is required: international development, human rights, psychology, sociology, international law, or another relevant social science field.
