Overview
The SRH Technical Officer will contribute to the formulation and design of Annual Work Plans, ensure the quality of programme/project design, and coordinate project implementation with Implementing Partners, experts, government counterparts, and other UN agencies.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the formulation and design of Annual Work Plans (AWPs) at the governorate level.
- Ensure quality of programme/project design incorporating lessons learned, newly developed policies and best practices.
- Expedite and coordinate project implementation by establishing collaborative relationships with Implementing Partners (IPs), experts, government counterparts and other UN agencies.
- Assist the Programme team in the implementation of project activities.
- Participate in and contribute to RH needs assessment by collecting data and providing inputs for the HRP/SRP.
- Support the coordination of Sub-National partners in implementing project activities.
- Follow up on issues arising in the field work, suggest and follow up on course corrections where necessary.
- Organize, contribute and coordinate technical and logistical arrangements for workshops and trainings.
- Review and coordinate the production of knowledge materials.
- Assist in preparation of the annual workplans and budget revisions.
- Facilitate timely preparation and submission of technical reports.
- Identify any support and advice required for the management, planning and control of the SRH programme.
- Conduct field visits, participate in review meetings and evaluation missions and prepare regular inputs to status and progress reports.
- Analyze factors affecting the achievement of results, recommend corrective actions and follows up on recommendations.
- Ensure the mainstreaming of gender and youth into all SRH activities.
- Ensure proper professional relationships with relevant sub-national level government stakeholders, community leaders, local NGOs and other Community Based Organizations.
- Perform other duties that may be required and deemed necessary.
Required Experience
- At least 5 years of experience in the related field and /or work related at public health institutions or NGOs.
- Field experience of programme implementation.
- National RH program implementation experience is a strong asset.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Maternal health, Nursing, Public health and/or other related medical science field preferable obstetrics and gynecological certificate.
