Overview

The Communication Analyst will support the development and implementation of UNFPA Nigeria’s Communication Strategy, ensuring alignment with global plans and enhancing visibility of UNFPA activities.


Key Responsibilities
  • Review and update Communication, Advocacy and Visibility Strategy and develop annual plans and budgets.
  • Collaborate to ensure consistent communication of UNFPA's transformative results.
  • Lead integration of advocacy and communication strategies into programmes.
  • Manage UNFPA social media platforms.
  • Coordinate dissemination of information products.
  • Identify and articulate success stories.
  • Build and maintain relationships with media stakeholders.
  • Undertake media and news monitoring.
  • Coordinate and support organization of events and missions.
  • Provide technical leadership in multimedia content creation.
  • Review and edit Country Office Reports and institutional documents.
  • Support development and maintenance of CO website content.
  • Track and analyze communication and media performance.
  • Ensure communications are neutral and aligned with UNFPA and UN rules.
  • Develop and disseminate multimedia content for youth communities.
  • Capacitate the CO Team in communication and advocacy.
  • Perform other assigned tasks.
Required Experience
  • 7 years of relevant experience.
  • At least 2 years of progressively responsible experience in communications, media, or public relations in humanitarian or developing contexts is an asset.
  • At least 2 years of professional experience in developing a wide array of online content (stories, blogs, photos, videos, etc.), social media management and planning, graphic design, campaign building and execution, and online campaigns.
Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Communications with specialized knowledge in the field of journalism, public relations.
  • An additional qualification in the field of health communication, sustainable development, youth advocacy would be an advantage.
