Overview
The Finance Assistant will be responsible for providing routine tasks in finance functions, ensuring accurate and timely delivery in compliance with UNICEF financial rules and regulations. The role aims to strengthen the Country Office financial team to meet delivery and results.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with report preparation, data compilation, and queries on pledges and funds received.
- Submit invoices for payment processing, ensuring record maintenance, accuracy, and compliance.
- Maintain financial records and monitoring systems for expenditures, balances, and payments.
- Enter data from documents, verifying accuracy and making necessary calculations.
- Prepare recurring and special reports for budget preparation and audits.
- Provide support in monthly and year-end account closure and preparation of related reports.
- Liaise with local banks for daily information and prepare bank reconciliations.
- Contribute to the preparation of cost estimates and participate in budget analysis.
- Prepare documentation for VAT claims.
- Perform other duties as required.
Required Experience
A minimum of five (05) years of clerical experience in the area of finance and accounting is required.
Qualifications
Completion of secondary education is required with professional/university level courses in Accounting and Finance/Business administration considered as an asset.
