Overview
This internship position involves data collection and analysis related to mining value chains, focusing on critical minerals for clean energy. The role also includes thematic research and support for intergovernmental meetings.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and document the value-chain structure of selected critical minerals.
- Analyze intermediate products and processing steps, including industrial uses.
- Identify and assign Harmonized System (HS) codes to products.
- Conduct data analysis on market, technological, and policy drivers.
- Contribute to research on value addition, diversification, and benefit sharing.
- Contribute to research on global frameworks for traceability and transparency.
- Assist in preparing background materials and presentations.
- Support the organization and preparation of intergovernmental meetings.
- Identify potential speakers and panelists.
Required Experience
Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience.
Qualifications
- Be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); or, Be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor's level or equivalent).
- Should be computer literate in standard software applications, as well as in Adobe InDesign and Datawrapper.
- Have a demonstrated keen interest in the work of the United Nations.
- Have a demonstrated ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs.
- The Knowledge of Excel package is required.
