Overview

The internship supports the Communications team within the UNEP FI Secretariat, focusing on raising awareness and promoting the adoption of sustainable finance through various communication channels.


Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with writing, editing, and designing communications content (newsletters, social media, web content, articles, digital content).
  • Manage the UNEP FI website, including daily updates and content development.
  • Assist with social media outreach and create proposals for social media campaigns.
  • Monitor web, email, and social media analytics, presenting findings and formulating takeaways.
  • Assist with the day-to-day coordination of activities, particularly publication launches.
  • Support communications for virtual events and webinars.
  • Track media coverage of UNEP FI and its initiatives.
Required Experience

Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience.

Qualifications
  • Enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher).
  • Enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum Bachelor's level or equivalent).
  • Graduated with a university degree and commencing the internship within one year of graduation.
  • Final year undergraduate or master’s degree student in communications, journalism, environmental studies, development studies, economics, business administration, finance, environmental studies with some experience in communications.

Languages Required
Fluency in oral and written English is required.
Languages Preferred
Knowledge of another UN Language is desirable.

6 months

International Environment House, Geneva, Switzerland or remote
Remuneration
Interns are not financially remunerated by the United Nations. Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions.
