Overview

Provides programme/project management and implementation assistance for capacity building and technical assistance initiatives. Researches, compiles, analyses, summarizes, and presents information on technology and innovation in the Asia Pacific region.


Key Responsibilities
  • Independently provides full range of programme/project management and implementation assistance.
  • Researches, compiles, analyses, summarizes, and presents basic information on technology and innovation.
  • Tracks developments affecting programme content and oversees database preparation.
  • Reviews, appraises and revises submissions for substantive programmes.
  • Works with partner agencies in arranging partnership modalities.
  • Prepares monitoring checklists and inputs.
  • Monitors budgetary commitments and prepares periodic budget revisions.
  • Supports implementation of communication strategies.
  • Serves as focal point for coordination, monitoring and expedition of implementation activities.
  • Provides secretariat services to the Governing Council of APCTT and relevant ESCAP Committees.
  • Establishes internal databases.
  • Supervises office support staff.
  • Assists with the collection and analysis of data.
  • Assists with visualizations and updating information material.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Experience

A minimum of ten years (or eight years if graduated with a first-level university degree) of progressively responsible experience in programme administration related to sustainable development, environment/climate change, technological cooperation, technology and innovation policy, or project management of international developmental projects is required. Experience in the United Nations Common System or in international organizations similar to those in the UN Common System is desirable. Experience in supporting organization of international capacity building and training programmes or workshops is desirable. One year or more of experience in data analytics or related area is desirable. Experience in supporting coordination, monitoring and expedition of project development and implementation activities is desirable.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent is required. A first-level university degree may be accepted in lieu of two years of required experience.

Knowledge of another UN official language is an advantage.
Contract Duration
The initial appointment is for a period of one year.
