Overview
The Information Analyst Intern will provide analytical support to the Judicial Support and Cooperation Section (JSCS) through open-source research and investigation, monitoring, data processing, and contextual analysis. The role contributes to the Mechanism’s efforts to support national jurisdictions by assisting in the collection and assessment of information relevant to case development.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct contextual open-source searches in support of criminal investigations.
- Monitor specific open sources for updates relevant to active domestic criminal investigations.
- Support in the analysis of material/records relevant to criminal investigations.
- Weekly open-source monitoring of political and judicial developments relevant to the work of the JSCS and reporting.
- Enter and review record-related information regarding material collected or preserved by the IIIM.
- Assist in informal translations and summarizing of relevant Arabic-language materials.
- Take minutes during internal JSCS meetings or cross-sectional meetings as needed.
Required Experience
Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience. However, a field of study that is closely related to the type of internship that you are applying for is required.
Qualifications
- Be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher).
- Be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor's degree or equivalent).
- Pursuing or have pursued a degree in areas related to criminology, law, Middle Eastern studies, conflict or security studies, international relations, human rights or criminal law, political/social science or a related area.
- Good knowledge of standard software applications, especially MS Word, MS Outlook, and MS Teams.
