Overview

The WASH Specialist (P3) reports to the Chief WASH (P5) and serves as the section’s lead specialist for planning, data for decision making, climate resilient WASH, and donor engagement. The role translates national evidence into prioritized, fundable and deliverable WASH proposals and actions.


Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the Section’s fund raising and donor engagement and reporting.
  • Lead national data and evidence generation partnerships.
  • Drive climate resilient WASH thinking and pipeline proposals.
  • Oversee innovations and scale up of pilots, with a focus on water, groundwater governance, medical waste management, and urban wastewater treatment.
  • Support the Sections Chief in managing the WASH section.
  • Oversee the development, preparation, management, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of the WASH programme.
  • Provide technical guidance and management support throughout programming processes.
  • Provide authoritative advisory services to government and sector support agencies.
  • Interact with government at senior levels and with staff of Donor Organizations and International Development Banks.
Required Experience

At least 5 years of relevant work experience in WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene) fund raising, WASH programmes, developing countries, management, water supply, climate resilient WASH, humanitarian context and any other related fields.

Qualifications

Master or equivalent (Advanced University Degree) in construction management, environmental science/health, climate change, civil engineering, hydrogeology, rural development, water resources, environmental science, business development and any other related fields.
