Overview
The Education Officer provides professional technical, operational and administrative assistance throughout the programming process for education programmes/projects. This role facilitates programme development, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting to achieve sustainable results in improving learning outcomes and universal access to quality, equitable and inclusive education.
Key Responsibilities
- Support to programme development and planning, including situation analysis and results-based planning.
- Programme management, monitoring and delivery of results, including collaboration with internal colleagues and partners, and reporting on resource utilization.
- Provide technical and operational support to government counterparts, NGO partners, UN system partners and other country office partners/donors.
- Build and sustain effective working partnerships with government counterparts and national stakeholders.
- Contribute to innovation, knowledge management and capacity building initiatives.
Required Experience
- A minimum of two (2) years of professional experience in programme planning, management, and/or research in Education is required.
- Experience working in a developing country is considered as an asset.
- Relevant experience in a UN system agency or organization is considered as an asset.
Qualifications
A university degree (Licence) or equivalent in one of the following fields is required: education, psychology, sociology or another relevant technical field.
