Overview

The Adolescent Development Officer provides professional technical, operational, and administrative assistance to support the integration of adolescent development and participation in Country Programme activities. The role focuses on strengthening advocacy, planning, and formulation of these programmes to promote adolescent well-being and participation.


Key Responsibilities
  • Support programme development and planning through situation analysis, research, data collection, and reporting.
  • Provide technical and operational support throughout programming processes, including results-based planning and monitoring.
  • Manage, monitor, and deliver programme results by collaborating with colleagues and partners, and reporting on resource utilization.
  • Provide technical and operational support to counterparts and partners on UNICEF policies and best practices.
  • Build and sustain partnerships with government and national stakeholders.
  • Draft communication materials for programme advocacy and resource mobilization.
  • Participate in inter-agency meetings for UNDAF operational planning.
  • Research potential donors and prepare resource mobilization materials.
  • Identify, capture, synthesize, and share lessons learned.
  • Apply innovative approaches and promote good practices.
  • Research and report on best practices for knowledge products and systems.
  • Participate as a resource person in capacity building initiatives.
Required Experience
  • A minimum of two years of professional experience in social development planning and management in adolescent development related areas is required.
  • Experience working in a developing country is considered as an asset.
  • Relevant experience in a UN system agency or organization is considered as an asset.
Qualifications

A university degree (BAC+3) in one of the following fields is required: anthropology, psychology, sociology, education or another relevant technical field.

Knowledge of another official UN language (English) or a local language is an asset.
