Overview
Drives vehicles safely for the transport of authorized personnel and goods. Ensures day-to-day maintenance of assigned vehicles and logs official trips.
Key Responsibilities
- Drives vehicles safely for the transport of authorized personnel and goods.
- Makes regular deliveries of parcels, documents, etc.
- Makes minor purchases and collects urgent purchases from local suppliers.
- Collects goods from customs.
- Meets official personnel at the airport and facilitates immigration and customs formalities.
- Deals effectively and tactfully with officials and visitors.
- Takes care of the day-to-day maintenance of assigned vehicles, performs minor repairs and ensures the vehicle is kept clean.
- Logs official trips, daily mileage, gas consumption, oil changes, greasing, etc.
- Ensures that the steps required by rules and regulations are taken in case of involvement in an accident.
- Applies good judgment in the context of assignments given.
- Assists with the collection and analysis of data as well as preparation of data presentations and reports.
- Assists with visualizations and updating information material.
- Seeks MOPs, security clearances and stays up to date to security advisories.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Experience
A minimum of two (2) years of experience as a driver with a safe driving records is required. The minimum number of years of relevant experience is reduced to none for candidates who possess a first-level university degree or higher. Experience in driving a variety of makes and models of vehicles, including vans and other kinds of motorized vehicles is required. Experience working with other United Nations entities or similar international organizations is desirable.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent. Driver training with a valid driver’s license.
