Overview

This opportunity is for experts to conduct reviews of national dangerous goods regulatory frameworks and training on dangerous goods transportation.


Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct an in-depth desktop review of the national dangerous goods regulatory framework and regulations.
  • Conduct an in-depth desktop review of the national dangerous goods handbook.
  • Provide a report on the findings of the review and recommendations.
  • Deliver training on dangerous goods transportation to civil aviation authority inspectors.
  • Perform other related duties, as assigned.
Required Experience
  • At least 7 years management or supervisory experience within a civil aviation department, with responsibilities pertaining to implementation of rules, regulations, operating manuals and flight and ground procedures deemed necessary for flight safety, inspection and certification.
  • Detailed knowledge of the broad field of international airline management and operations with extensive experience in the transport of and dealing with dangerous goods.
  • Sound knowledge of ICAO Annex 18 and Doc 9284--Technical Instructions for the Safe Transport of Dangerous Goods by Air.
  • Experience as a dangerous goods instructor.
Qualifications
  • A first level university degree in civil aviation, transportation, management or other relevant area.
  • A valid dangerous goods certification is required.

• A good command of oral and written English.
Languages Preferred
• A working knowledge of French or another official language of the Organization (Arabic, Chinese, Russian, or Spanish).
