Overview
The Finance Officer will support the financial management of projects and partnerships, ensuring compliance with donor and organizational policies. The role will assist in budgeting, monitoring, financial reporting, and variance analysis.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the budgeting team in budget preparation, monitoring, financial reporting, and variance analysis.
- Review partner financial reports, processing payments, and maintaining financial records.
- Assist with audits by preparing required financial documents and responding to auditor requests.
- Participate in Partner Capacity Assessments (PCA) and contribute to identifying and mitigating financial and operational risks.
- Support partners in budget preparation, review, and finalization.
- Review partner financial reports and supporting documents for consistency and compliance.
- Assist in conducting finance monitoring and review activities.
- Support the close-out process of partnership agreements.
- Ensure timely processing and transfer of funds to partners.
- Prepare and upload partner financial report journals and payment journal entries.
- Maintain partner advance trackers and expense liquidation schedules.
- Provide partners with financial guidance, tools, resources, and support.
- Ensure all expenses are correctly coded and linked to appropriate budget lines, grants, and cost centers.
- Monitor budget utilization across projects and departments.
- Support preparing monthly Budget vs Actual (BvA) reports and conduct variance analysis.
- Track commitments, accruals, and pipeline expenditures.
- Uploading the budget into the system, along with accounting records and ERP system data.
- Ensure compliance with IRC financial policies, donor regulations, and internal controls.
Required Experience
Minimum working experience of 2-3 years in the same capacity.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
