Overview

The intern will support the United Nations Environment Programme's Governance Affairs office, specifically the Civil Society Unit, with IT-related tasks and administrative support.


Key Responsibilities
  • Support preparation in website updates, including adding and editing accredited organizations, uploading documents, and editing content.
  • Support registration processes for meetings and work on participant lists.
  • Develop and conduct client satisfaction surveys and analyze feedback.
  • Draft accreditation memos for organizations.
  • Support communications with accredited UNEP Major Groups and Stakeholders.
  • Support the day-to-day management of internal databases.
  • Perform other tasks as requested.
Required Experience

Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience. A field of study closely related to the type of internship is required.

Qualifications
  • Undergraduate studies in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Software Engineering, Data science, or Cyber Security.
  • Be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher).
  • Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum bachelor’s level or equivalent).
  • Have graduated with a university degree.
  • Good knowledge of standard software applications, especially MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and MS Teams.
  • Ability to draft news articles and/or social media posts is desirable.
  • Ability to design surveys and polls is desirable.

Languages Required
Fluency in spoken and written English is required.
Languages Preferred
Knowledge of an additional official UN language is an advantage.

Interns are not financially remunerated by the United Nations. Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions.
