Overview

The Programme Management Officer will facilitate the development of new business and partnership relationships between UNOPS and its partners, and expand UNOPS presence in Ethiopia.


Key Responsibilities
  • Contributes to the development and implementation of the MCO business strategy.
  • Explores potential for new programs and develops proposals.
  • Synthesizes and summarizes information relevant to business development.
  • Advocates UNOPS as a partner and service provider.
  • Supports development of strategic partnerships.
  • Maintains and develops contacts and partnerships within the donor community.
  • Supports the MCO Leadership team on corporate and strategic initiatives.
  • Prepares project documents, legal agreements, budgets and support engagement clearance.
  • Assists in the preparation of meetings and events.
  • Supports MCO leadership team in project compliance and quality assurance.
  • Collaborates with business area teams to understand project requirements.
  • Supports internal coordination of corporate and strategic initiatives.
  • Promotes the circulation of information within the MCO.
  • Produces high-quality communications and visibility materials.
  • Supports preparation of monthly KPI reports.
  • Prepares periodic updates on the progress of Corporate action plans.
  • Provides ad hoc research on potential business partners.
  • Involves in the induction of new staff about UNOPS.
Required Experience
  • A minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience in donor relations and/or business development functions is required.
  • Experience of working in multicultural environments or UN system organizations in a developing country is desired.
  • Experience in partnership development and commercial and legal agreements is desired.
  • Experience in communication and liaison with government and international organization is desired.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Business/Commerce, Marketing, Economics, Management, International Affairs, Political science, Development Studies, or related fields with 2 years of relevant experience OR Master’s degree (or equivalent) in any of the above or related fields with 1 year of relevant experience is required.
  • Desired Certifications in PRINCE2® Foundation and PRINCE2® Practitioner is desired.
