Overview
Responsible for leading NRC’s area operations in the Liptako / Soum area, ensuring high standards of project delivery and contributing to multi-country coherence.
Key Responsibilities
- Overall responsibility of managing the Area Office including potential sub offices
- Responsible for overall staff security, including completing security risk assessments
- Support needs assessment in the region and ensure implementation of all projects active in the area
- Support the team in identifying gaps for further programming and development
- Lead on access strategy and its implementation in hard-to-reach areas
- Liaise with donors, local authorities, and humanitarian actors
- Represent NRC at coordination platforms at area level
- Overall responsibility for staff management, recruitment, training, and capacity building
- Ensure sound financial management
Required Experience
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience working as a Senior Project Manager / field manager in a humanitarian and recovery context
- Previous experience working in complex and volatile contexts
- Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities
- Knowledge of the context in West Africa and Burkina Faso in particular
- Experience working in insecure / hard to reach locations
- Experience managing safety and security
- Competencies in humanitarian and access negotiations
