Overview
The 4Mi Officer will provide day-to-day administrative support to the regional MMC team to ensure smooth 4Mi implementation across Asia.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the administrative needs of 4Mi across Asia and the Pacific;
- Support the administrative & basic grants management needs of 4Mi across Asia and the Pacific;
- Support the recruitment process of partners and consultants responsible for the 4Mi data collection;
- Manage proper storage and archiving of documents relevant to 4Mi activities and implementation;
- Assist the Regional Data and Research Specialist with the 4Mi research cycle management including planning and design, data collection, cleaning and analysis, as well as monitoring of data collection and documenting lessons learn for each cycle;
- Assist the Regional Data and Research Specialist with organizing 4Mi trainings (e.g. updating the training material, planning and delivering the 4Mi training, preparing phones for data collection, assessing further needs, if relevant);
- In close collaboration with partners’ project staff & enumerators, support their staff to ensure compliance with 4Mi data collection activities, and raise issues with the MMC team;
- Manage translation of tools and materials, when necessary.
- In collaboration with the Regional Data and Research Specialist and the IM Specialist, assist in managing, cleaning and analyzing large quantities of data;
- Support the IM Specialist in producing clean and analyzed datasets;
- During data collection: support the IM Specialist in managing the initial quality check of collected 4Mi data based on guidelines and support from the Regional Data and Research Specialist and other colleagues; support the IM Specialist in managing the initial data cleaning process based on guidelines and support from the 4Mi team;
- Contribute to drafting and creation of visuals for regularly published information products (e.g. PowerPoint, Infographic, Snapshot, report etc.);
- Work closely with MMC colleagues to develop research and analysis on migration trends in the region;
- Contribute to the development of MMC MEA’s research agenda;
- Stay up-to-date on migration trends in the region and globally;
- Ensure the compliance of MMC standards and guidelines related to 4Mi implementation;
- Work with the Regional Data and Research Specialist and the IM Specialist to develop standardised information management tools, and to improve information management and data processing standards for 4Mi.
Required Experience
At least 2 years of professional experience with strong analytical skills and demonstrated command of working with large quantities of data in Microsoft Excel; ability to process and aggregate data, as well as conduct analysis. Knowledge of administrative and financial systems. Demonstrated ability to produce cogent analyses for a wide variety of audiences. Highly organised and methodical. Excellent interpersonal skills and experience working effectively in a team. Previous experience in data collection activities in humanitarian settings is an asset, as is previous experience in working in mixed migration context/projects in the region is desirable.
Qualifications
At least Bachelor’s degree in relevant field, including but not limited to data science, international relations, public administration, business administration, political science, sociology, social science, or international development. Understanding of IT systems, including Microsoft Office, and online data collection platforms.
