Overview
The Humanitarian Mine Action (HMA) Supervisor (Demining Supervisor) will lead Manual Mine Clearance / Battle Area Clearance DRC HMA Teams in Mykolaiv and assist in prioritizing and planning Explosive Ordnance (EO) Clearance tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise Manual Mine Clearance / Battle Area Clearance DRC HMA Teams.
- Support Technical Field Manager / Technical Advisors and Quality Management unit in refresher training.
- Provide administrative, welfare and disciplinary supervision of all DRC HMA team members.
- Represent the teams at coordination meetings.
- Conduct daily meetings with teams to plan operational activities.
- Report on Manual Mine Clearance / Battle Area Clearance materials and equipment.
- Send daily reports to Technical Field Manager.
- Ensure operational equipment and supplies are replenished.
- Report equipment damages, malfunctions, or losses.
- Report vehicle break-downs.
- Be familiar with International Mine Action Standards, National Mine Action Standards and HMA Standard Operating Procedures.
- Be overall charge of clearance operations in field locations.
- Carry out other tasks as directed by HMA Technical Field Manager and Technical Advisors.
- Submit logistical requests to Supply Chain with minimum 2 weeks’ notice.
- Conduct Quality Control of cleared area once per month.
Required Experience
- At least 2 years of leading HMA Technical Survey, Manual Mine Clearance, Battle Area Clearance operations.
- At least 2 years’ experience using Mine detector Minelab F3, UPEX 740, SC 100 or Schonstedt.
- At least 3 years of constant driving experience with manual and automatic transmission.
