Overview
The Country Programme Coordinator is responsible for the planning, implementation, and management of UN Women interventions in the Americas and Caribbean Regional Office.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and guide country programme management, including coordination of annual workplans, budget, and results framework.
- Coordinate day-to-day programme activities and monitor resource utilization.
- Provide technical support and capacity development to project/programme partners in areas such as women, peace and security, economic empowerment, and ending violence against women.
- Draft quarterly and annual progress reports and donor reports.
- Monitor budget implementation and provide inputs to financial reports.
- Provide substantive inputs to inter-agency and country coordination processes.
- Provide substantive inputs to resource mobilization strategies and partnership building.
- Provide substantive inputs to knowledge management, communications, and advocacy activities.
Required Experience
- At least 2 years of progressively responsible experience at the national and/or international level in design, planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of development projects.
- Experience in establishing inter-relationships among international organization and national governments.
- Experience leading and coaching staff in international settings.
- Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc.) and spreadsheet and database packages, experience in handling of web-based management systems.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree or equivalent in social sciences, human rights, gender/ women’s studies, international development, or a related field is required.
- A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
- A project/programme management certification (such as PMP®, PRINCE2®, or MSP®) would be an added advantage.
