Overview
The Programme Management Officer will participate in the development, implementation, and evaluation of assigned programmes/projects, and provide substantive support to regional/subregional programmes and initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Participates in the development, implementation and evaluation of assigned programmes/projects.
- Plans, manages, and/or leads specialized teams.
- Monitors and analyzes programme/project development and implementation.
- Reviews relevant documents and reports in both English and Chinese.
- Identifies problems and issues and proposes corrective actions.
- Liaises with relevant parties, particularly within the host country.
- Performs consulting assignments and develops action plans.
- Researches, analyzes and presents information.
- Assists in policy development, including review and analysis of issues and trends.
- Undertakes survey initiatives, designs data collection tools, and analyzes responses.
- Prepares various written outputs, such as draft background papers and reports.
- Provides substantive support to strengthening partnerships and collaboration with stakeholders.
- Provides substantive support to consultative and other meetings.
- Undertakes outreach activities, conducts training workshops, and makes presentations.
- Participates in or leads field missions.
- Coordinates activities related to budget and funding.
- Collects and analyzes data to identify trends or patterns and provide insights.
- Ensures that requirements and background information used for data analysis are documented.
- Performs other duties as required.
Required Experience
A minimum of five years (or seven years if graduated with a first-level university degree) of progressively responsible and professional experience in managing multilateral agricultural projects, or programmes, including administration functions in the United Nations Common System or similar international, multilateral, or intergovernmental organizations is required.
Qualifications
Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in business administration, management, economics, agricultural machinery, environmental science, engineering or a related field is required. A first-level university degree in combination with qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
