Overview
This internship focuses on supporting the Sustainable Development and Countries in Special Situations Section in event organization, communications, and stakeholder engagement related to sustainable development challenges in the Asia-Pacific region.
Key Responsibilities
- Provides logistical and coordination support to meetings and events, including the Asia-Pacific Forum on Sustainable Development.
- Assists with logistics before and during meetings, including registration and presentations.
- Prepares meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
- Monitors and engages with online communities and supports stakeholder outreach.
- Supports the delivery, documentation, and reporting of trainings and learning events.
- Supports youth engagement processes and activities.
- Designs and creates communications multimedia and social media outreach materials.
- Updates and maintains related websites with relevant materials.
- Performs tasks related to strategic communications, public information, and digital outreach.
- Uploads knowledge management products and multimedia resources to external websites.
- Researches, analyses, and presents information from diverse sources.
- Assists in background and preliminary research for the Asia-Pacific Forum on Sustainable Development and Sustainable Development Goals.
- Assists in the organization of substantive materials related to ESCAP's work.
- Supports the team in day-to-day activities and other ad-hoc duties.
Required Experience
Applicants are not required to have professional work experience for participation in the Programme.
Qualifications
a) be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); or b) be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum Bachelor’s level or equivalent); or c) have graduated with a university degree (as defined above) and, if selected, must commence the internship within a one year period of graduation.
