Overview
The Project Associate will support the Shifting to Zero Waste Against Pollution (SWAP) Initiative Project, assisting with day-to-day implementation, reporting, and liaison with stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide inputs to the preparation of AWPs.
- Support the preparation of annual budgets and procurement plans.
- Make periodic revisions of AWPs and procurement plans.
- Provide general administrative support.
- Provide project logistic support.
- Support the control of budget expenditures.
- Control the usage of non-expendable equipment.
- Keep regular contact with project experts and consultants.
- Provide English translation as required.
- Draft Terms of References, and other administrative documentation.
- Provide logistical support for travel arrangements.
- Manage visa support, transportation, hotel accommodation for foreign experts.
- Support project experts during site-based joint activities.
- File and archive all relevant correspondence and project-related documents.
- Support the organization and logistical preparation of project activities.
- Coordinate implementation with project partners.
- Organize Project Steering Committee meetings.
- Organize and coordinate project meetings, reviews and site visits.
- Organize project events.
- Support the Project Manager by compiling information on contractor performance.
- Monitor bottlenecks and problems in project implementation, propose corrective actions.
- Prepare inputs to APR and compile project reports.
- Draft correspondence, notes, briefs, and other materials.
- Support the Project Manager in mainstreaming gender equality.
- Prepare inputs to tender documents, technical specifications, terms of references, bills of quantities.
- Provide administrative and documentation support in procurement processes.
Required Experience
A minimum of 7 years (with high school diploma) or 4 years (with bachelor’s degree) of progressively responsible administrative or project experience is required. Experience in project cycle management in the public or private sector or NGOs or international organizations. Experience in at least one climate change, environment or chemicals and waste project. Desired skills include experience in budget planning and monitoring, experience working in UN Organizations, experience in organizing and coordinating events and activities, and experience in at least 1 project in collaboration with governmental organizations and/or local governments. Additional years of experience working with international institutions/organizations.
Qualifications
Secondary education is required, or University Degree in business administration/economics, engineering, political/social sciences, urban or/and regional planning, climate change, administrative sciences or environmental sciences, or related fields.
