Overview
Implement the content strategy and maintain UNDRR's presence on social media platforms to drive audience growth and user engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement the content strategy and develop UNDRR's presence on Twitter/X, Facebook, LinkedIn, and other relevant platforms.
- Design and implement social media campaigns on anticipatory action, climate action, gender and disability inclusion, tsunami awareness, and Early Warnings for All.
- Identify priority issues, opportunities, and major events for social media coverage.
- Propose new ways to engage and position UNDRR on appropriate channels.
- Develop and maintain the social media content calendar.
- Write, select, edit, post, update, and maintain content on official platforms.
- Monitor feedback and respond with accurate information.
- Identify and help select content for social distribution.
- Produce or oversee production of multimedia content (videos, animated GIFs, etc.), boosting digital accessibility.
- Provide editorial support for UNDRR's written products, including reports, webstories, press releases, and promotional material.
- Provide guidance to regional offices on institutional social media and digital content production.
- Identify relevant regional content for HQ channels.
- Support regional content production with SOPs and templates.
- Collect and analyze data to identify trends and provide insights via graphs, charts, tables, and reports.
- Monitor accounts and prepare analytical reports to ensure outreach, engagement, and growth.
Required Experience
5 years experience using graphic and video editing software is required.
Qualifications
An Advanced university degree in public information, disaster risk management, international relations, journalism, political studies or related field is required. A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
