Overview
The Grants Manager is responsible for overseeing the full life cycle of grant management, including supporting donor engagement and fundraising efforts, developing quality proposals, and strengthening partnerships with local organizations.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development of fundraising and donor engagement strategy and efforts.
- Coordinate all aspects of the proposal development process.
- Work closely with technical teams to ensure proposals reflect needs and response analyses.
- Contribute to the drafting, and lead on the review and quality assurance of proposal packages.
- Support the country and sub- offices to ensure the inclusion of DRC programmatic standards and policies.
- Support the Country Office in ensuring a robust Grants Management system.
- Maintain and regularly update DRC internal system Dynamics with all relevant grants documents.
- Provide regular updates on grant delivery, gaps, risks, and challenges.
- Prepare and facilitate project kick-off, review, and close-out meetings.
- Provide oversight in the review of strategic donors’ grants.
- Coordinate with countries and sub-offices on the delivery and timely submission of high-quality donor reports.
- Manage official communications with donors.
- Support in the review and finalization of Grants Agreements with donors.
- Support external donor audits and donor monitoring visits.
- Facilitate tracking the overall programme portfolio with donors.
- Technically support teams in the management of grants and awards.
- Maintain an overview of and provide advice and guidance to programme teams on donor compliance requirements.
- Liaise with DRC HQ to provide updates on grants, donors and PCM.
- Support DRC’s commitment to equitable and effective partnerships.
- Support the Partnerships staff in the timely and quality development of Sub-Grant Agreements.
- Ensure donor and DRC guidelines and deadlines are known by project teams of local partners.
- Ensure the quality of partner reports and agreements amendments.
- Manage the Grants Team on a day-to-day basis.
- Prepare work plans with clear objectives, achievement benchmarks, and long-term and short-term priorities.
- Assist the team in identifying professional development needs and opportunities.
- Provide continuous performance feedback to the team.
- Undertake training and capacity development for DRC staff and partner organizations on grants management principles and processes.
- Support the development and/or customization of training materials.
Required Experience
Minimum 4 years work experience in similar job at international level. At least 2 years' experience in people management and team leadership is highly preferred. Experience of working with local partners.
Qualifications
Degree in relevant subject e.g. Social Sciences, International Development, or equivalent work experience
