Overview
Provide technical support and coordination in the processing of ADB's private sector investments and technical assistance in Nepal and other South Asian countries. Assist in the identification, development, approval, implementation, and administration of private sector infrastructure financing projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Provides analytical support in credit and financial due diligence, review of contracts and project documents, development of financial models, and assessing risk and credit profile of proposed infrastructure investments.
- Performs analysis of financial statements and financial projections/models, sensitivity analysis, and stress testing.
- Participates in due diligence missions and supports negotiations with project developers, sponsors, and financiers.
- Provides logistical support and interacts with external technical advisors, consultants, and lawyers.
- Undertakes industry and country research for transaction risk assessment.
- Assists in drafting credit memorandum, summaries of project documents, and risk assessment analyses.
- Interfaces with internal departments within ADB to address credit-related and other issues.
- Assists in creating, maintaining, and updating credit files.
- Assists in Investment Committee meetings and other meetings.
- Maintains a database of projects and financing documents.
- Liaises with the central file keeper for orderly electronically filed documents.
- Undertakes activities to process disbursement requests, including verification of compliance with disbursement conditions.
- Verifies fee computation.
- Monitors billing statements and payments from borrowers, and follows up on delays.
- Ensures borrowers' compliance with covenants.
- Monitors and follows up on the submission of financial statements, technical, insurance, safeguard, and other reports.
- Prepares memoranda for management approval for waivers and consents requested by the borrower.
- Liaises with the Office of the General Counsel, Office of Risk Management, and other relevant parties.
- Responds to borrower requests and needs.
- Assists with the preparation of terms of reference (TOR) for consultant recruitment.
- Provides support in identifying suitable consultants.
- Provides comments/inputs on draft due diligence reports.
- Assists and participates in project identification and development, including due diligence, risk analysis, and mitigation.
- Provides inputs for updates on PSOD activities to the Country Director, Nepal Resident Mission.
- Performs other tasks as assigned and reflected in the workplan.
Required Experience
At least 5 years of relevant experience in the field of corporate financing or project finance with a leading international or local financial institution, and/or investment bank.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Finance and/or Accounting, preferably with advanced training.
