Overview
The role supports common logistics services provided to humanitarian partners, ensuring compliance with WFP procedures and proper documentation of activities. It contributes to daily coordination by organizing meetings, facilitating communication, and supporting the implementation of standard operating procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare meeting agendas, ensure logistics for coordination meetings, and follow up on decisions.
- Facilitate information flow between humanitarian partners and national institutions.
- Ensure all common logistics service requests are prepared, registered, and processed according to WFP procedures and standards.
- Verify file compliance, ensure request traceability, and inform partners of progress.
- Compile operational data (volumes transported, warehouse occupancy rates, customs clearance times, fuel consumption).
- Produce tracking charts and contribute to trend analysis to support decision-making.
- Support the application of standard operating procedures (SOPs) by explaining steps to partners, verifying compliance, and reporting deviations.
- Participate in inter-agency meetings and prepare summary notes.
- Liaise technically with public institutions (customs, civil protection, relevant ministries).
- Contribute to drafting donor reports by providing consolidated data, charts, and basic analysis.
- Prepare internal notes for situation reports.
- Assist in budget monitoring of logistics activities, prepare purchase or service requests, and maintain inventories of materials used for coordination.
- Plan and coordinate training sessions for national counterparts (DGPC, Customs, local authorities), preparing context-appropriate training materials and managing participant registrations.
- Contribute to integrating acquired skills into national preparedness and response mechanisms.
- Perform any other mission assigned by the supervisor to support coordination and external services activities.
Required Experience
Minimum 6 years of progressive experience in logistics, supply chain, or humanitarian operations. Experience with UN agencies or NGOs is desirable.
Qualifications
Completion of secondary education, preferably with a university degree.
