Overview
Assists the National Security Officer/Field Security Officer in collecting, updating, and communicating information regarding the security situation in the area of responsibility. Liaises with host government security organizations and personnel, UN agencies, and non-governmental organizations.
Key Responsibilities
- Assists in collecting, updating, and communicating security information.
- Liaises and coordinates with host government security organizations and personnel.
- Helps assess the security situation and gather/verify security information.
- Maintains contacts with Security Focal Points of UN agencies and UNDSS.
- Provides support in preparing and reviewing the UN Security Plan.
- Assists in maintaining the security risk management (SRM) document.
- Assists in reporting security incidents and drafting security reports.
- Provides support in organizing and conducting security awareness training.
- Conducts security briefings.
- Establishes and maintains warden system.
- Maintains liaison with commercial companies used for UN security.
Required Experience
At least six (6) years of experience with a secondary school certificate OR University degree (Diploma/Bachelor’s) with a minimum of two (2) or more years of experience in security, with proven capability in leading field teams, writing detailed security briefs, and handling emergency scenarios.
Qualifications
Completion of secondary school education OR University degree (Diploma/Bachelor) in Risk Management, Criminology, Military Science, OR a related field is highly preferred.
