Overview

The Registration Assistant supports activities related to registration, including reception, filing, and data management. The role responds to queries from asylum seekers and refugees regarding registration procedures and their rights and entitlements.


Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct registration interviews in accordance with local SOPs and registration standards.
  • Respond to queries from asylum seekers and refugees regarding UNHCR's registration procedures and their rights and entitlements.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to date records and data related to all individual registration cases.
  • Identify persons with specific needs and ensure timely referral to protection follow-up as required.
  • Collaborate with protection staff and/or partners in the delivery of assistance and programming, including provision of identity and entitlement documentation.
  • Act as interpreter and translator when needed.
  • Refer cases to other units within the office and to implementing partners as necessary.
  • Support the identification and management of risks and seek to seize opportunities impacting objectives in the area of responsibility.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
Required Experience

1 year relevant experience with High School Diploma; or Bachelor or equivalent or higher. Experience in UNHCR registration systems: proGres v4, BIMS. Experience in L1 and L2 registration interviews, including identity verification, family composition updates, and documentation review. Experience in case intake and reception, including appointment scheduling, triage, and referral of persons with specific needs. Ability to prepare registration statistics, dashboards, and reports using excel and/or Power BI. Experience in working with UNHCR proGres software is desirable.

Qualifications

High School Diploma; or Bachelor or equivalent or higher. Certificates and/or Licenses: Social Sciences; Statistics; Mathematics; Information Technology.
