Overview

Provide technical leadership and support to Public Health Promotion (PHP) teams through a community engagement approach in humanitarian emergencies. Ensure meaningful involvement of communities in identifying and addressing public health risks and in the use of WASH services.


Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical leadership and support to PHP teams.
  • Ensure meaningful involvement of women, men, girls, and boys in identifying and addressing public health risks.
  • Contribute to positive outcomes for communities through safe, equitable, and culturally appropriate use and management of WASH services.
  • Undertake deployments normally lasting from several weeks up to six months to support rapidly evolving emergencies and complex operational environments.
Required Experience

Minimum of five years’ relevant international humanitarian experience, including substantial experience in Public Health Promotion and/or WASH programming in emergency contexts. Experience working across different humanitarian emergency contexts and geographical settings. Experience strengthening the capacity of staff and partners through mentoring, coaching, training, accompaniment, technical guidance, and learning approaches.

Qualifications

Relevant graduate qualification or equivalent professional experience in a related discipline such as public health, social sciences, environmental health, anthropology, community development, or a related field.

Fluency in written and spoken English and French is essential.
Languages Preferred
Additional language skills, particularly Arabic or Spanish, are desirable.
