Overview

Support the UN Human Rights Office (OHCHR) in its mission to protect human rights through communications and media relations.


Key Responsibilities
  • Drafting website articles and social media posts
  • Researching current human rights issues for outreach
  • Maintaining and updating media mailing lists
  • Conducting media monitoring and compiling media clippings
  • Assisting with preparation of material for press conferences
  • Assisting with setting up and running events
  • Assisting in researching material for speeches
Required Experience

Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience. However, a field of study that is closely related to the type of internship that you are applying for is required.

Qualifications

Applicants must be enrolled in the final academic year of a first-level university degree programme (i.e. Bachelor's degree or equivalent degree); be enrolled in a graduate school programme (i.e. Master's degree or equivalent degree, or higher) or have completed an aforementioned academic degree, preferably in the area of law, political science, international relations, social sciences or a related field.

Languages Required
Fluency in spoken and written English is required for the internship.
Languages Preferred
Knowledge of an additional official UN language is an advantage.

Remuneration
