Overview

Provides strategic, technical, and people leadership for Oxfam’s gender justice portfolio across the SAF Cluster, ensuring feminist, rights-based, and gender-transformative approaches are effectively designed, delivered, and embedded within programmes and partnerships.


Key Responsibilities
  • Define and guide gender justice priorities across the cluster
  • Support integration of feminist principles within the SAF Strategy
  • Line manage Gender Justice Technical Coordinators ensuring clarity of roles and accountability
  • Establish strong performance management practices, including objective setting, feedback, and performance improvement
  • Support development of gender-transformative programme approaches
  • Ensure integration across climate justice, economic justice, and humanitarian programming
  • Support development of gender-related advocacy strategies and messaging
  • Contribute to policy positioning and influencing efforts
  • Support partners in designing and implementing feminist approaches
  • Promote equitable partnerships and localisation principles
  • Support development of gender-focused research and learning agendas
  • Ensure gender analysis informs programme and advocacy work
  • Provide technical guidance and training to staff
  • Support integration of gender across teams
  • Represent Oxfam in relevant forums and networks
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders in gender justice
Required Experience

6 years of relevant experience in gender justice, women’s rights, or feminist programming, with strong technical expertise in gender-transformative approaches, including at least 3 years in a team leadership or management role. Proven experience in managing and leading teams, including performance management and staff development. Strong ability to influence programme design and work across multi-country or multi-stakeholder environments.

Qualifications

Master’s degree in Gender Studies, development studies, Social Sciences or equivalent professional qualification. A Bachelor’s degree combined with relevant postgraduate or professional qualifications and significant experience of at least 10 years may be considered.
