Overview

Coordinate the formulation, development, implementation, backstopping and evaluation of projects and activities in countering cybercrime and cyber-enabled crimes in Southern and Eastern Africa. Provide policy advice and technical assistance to national authorities.


Tasks Summary
  • Coordinate project formulation, development, implementation, backstopping and evaluation in countering cybercrime and cyber-enabled crimes.
  • Provide policy advice and monitor action plans with national authorities to combat cybercrime.
  • Develop and deliver technical assistance, mentoring and training to national agencies.
  • Review and prepare project documents and reports, identify problems and propose corrective actions.
  • Monitor expenditures and utilization of funds, draft programme or project documents and reports.
  • Contribute to fund-raising activities by reviewing, drafting and compiling documents.
  • Coordinate engagement with national authorities in Mozambique to counter cybercrime.
  • Collect and analyze data to identify trends and provide insights.

Experience Requirements
  • Minimum of five years of progressively responsible professional work experience in providing technical assistance in countering cybercrime, cryptocurrencies and financial investigations.
  • Work experience in supporting criminal justice institutions in the implementation of technical assistance in countering cybercrime.
  • Work experience in delivering training and providing technical assistance in countering cybercrime to the criminal justice sector.
  • Work experience within the United Nations or similar international organizations dealing with law enforcement related operations is desirable.
  • Experience in data analytics or related area is desirable.

Qualification Requirements
  • An advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in law, criminology, international security, political science or other related field is required.
  • A first-level university degree in similar fields in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
  • Certification in tracing cryptocurrencies is desirable.
