Overview

Provides legal advice and assistance to protect the legal interests of the International Trade Centre and ensure its activities align with its legal framework.

Tasks Summary

• Manage legal aspects of staff disciplinary matters and provide guidance on HR policies and processes.
• Support United Nations Dispute Tribunal casework and prepare HR legal casework documentation.
• Review, interpret, and develop legal documents and instruments such as memoranda of understanding.
• Draft and interpret contracts and agreements with funders, private sector entities, governments, and licensees.
• Provide legal advice on various matters to internal committees and advisory groups.
• Advise senior staff on committees and expert groups, including preparation of background materials.

Experience Requirements

A minimum of five years of relevant professional experience in law with a focus on one or more of the following areas: international law, administrative law, contract law, or HR casework-related law. Seven years of relevant professional experience is required with a first-level university degree.

Qualification Requirements

Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in public international or administrative law, or related area. A first-level university degree in public international or administrative law, or a related area, may be considered with an additional two years of relevant professional experience.
