Overview
Provides administrative support to the Front Office of the Executive Secretary of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) in Geneva, Switzerland, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.
Tasks Summary
- Receives, reviews, and registers incoming and outgoing mail and correspondence.
- Drafts and checks routine correspondence and documents.
- Maintains and updates filing systems, both physical and electronic.
- Arranges meetings and appointments.
- Screens telephone calls.
- Handles protocol issues for the Executive Secretary.
- Initiates, reviews, processes, and follows up on administrative actions.
- Makes travel arrangements and monitors travel expenditures.
- Provides support on Umoja, office procedures, and systems.
- Serves as budget focal point for the Office of the Executive Secretary.
Experience Requirements
- At least seven (7) years of administrative experience is required.
- Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience for candidates with a first-level university degree or higher.
- At least three (3) years of experience providing support to senior officials is desirable.
- Experience involving wide contact with diplomatic personnel, various offices of the United Nations Secretariat or any other similar international organization, and overseas offices of the United Nations at large (or other similar field offices) is desirable.
Qualification Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent is required.
