Overview

Provide technical development to NCVC on the design and implementation of flagship restoration projects, ensuring alignment with global best practices and UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration standards. Deliver targeted training, develop guidance materials, and facilitate a regional workshop.

Tasks Summary

• Conduct technical assessment of national restoration initiatives and prepare an assessment note.
• Design training programs and develop training modules, exercises, and case-study concepts.
• Prepare outline for an ecosystem restoration guidance document.
• Deliver two national training sessions.
• Deliver a regional workshop to strengthen regional understanding of UN Decade World Restoration Flagship criteria.
• Incorporate feedback into knowledge products and submit final training materials, guidance documents, and workshop report.

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 10 years of experience in ecosystem restoration projects, including knowledge in UN Decade principles, flagship development, and land management.
• Knowledge of environmental issues in the context of West Asia Region.
• Experience in training and building capacity in ecosystem restoration projects.
• Experience in multistakeholder engagement and developing technical analytical reports.
• Experience in working with international organizations, government agencies, or funding institutions, is preferred.

Qualification Requirements

• Master’s degree or equivalent in Environmental Science, Ecology, Restoration Ecology, Forestry, Natural Resource Management, or a related field is required.
• PhD is an asset.
