Overview

The Assistant Administrative Officer will be responsible for managing human resource activities, assisting with budget and finance, and performing general administrative duties within the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) Venezuela Team.


Tasks Summary
  • Undertake actions related to human resource activities including recruitment, placement, promotion, performance appraisal, job classification reviews, and separation of staff members.
  • Provide information regarding conditions of service, duties, responsibilities, privileges, and entitlements.
  • Assist in developing the unit’s work program and budget, and monitor budget/work program using Umoja.
  • Support the implementation of financial database procedures and systems, and follow up on pending entitlements, payments, and claims.
  • Contribute to ensuring effective procurement processes and prepare cost analyses, financial reports, and proposals.
  • Perform other related administrative duties such as managing the operational travel programme, visas, monitoring accounts and payments, and providing logistical support.

Experience Requirements
  • For candidates with a first-level university degree, a minimum of two (2) years of experience in administration, finance, accounting, human resources management, or a related area is required.
  • No experience is required for candidates with an advanced university degree.
  • Experience working on Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, such as Umoja and/or Inspira, is desirable.
  • Experience working in the United Nations Common System or similar international organization is desirable.

Qualification Requirements
  • Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in business or public administration, finance, accounting, law, or a related field is required.
  • A first-level university degree (Bachelor’s degree or equivalent) in the aforementioned fields, in combination with two (2) additional years of relevant qualified work experience, may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
