Overview
The intern will assist the Environment Management Group (EMG) Secretariat in its work to enhance collaboration in the UN system in the field of environment.
Tasks Summary
- Support the Secretariat in interagency collaboration on environmental topics including biodiversity loss, pollution, urbanisation and the environment, gender and the environment, human rights and the environment;
- Support EMG Nexus Dialogues;
- Support internal environmental and social sustainability in the UN System;
- Support the System-Wide Framework of Strategies on the Environment;
- Support Communications.
Experience Requirements
No working experience is required to apply for the United Nations Internship Programme.
Qualification Requirements
- Be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher);
- Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum Bachelor's level or equivalent);
- Have graduated with a university degree.
Specific to this Internship, candidates with a postgraduate qualification in environmental studies and/or social science with a genuine interest in and understanding of environmental issues, digital media strategies and the work of the United Nations will be preferred.
Are computer literate in standard software applications.
