Overview
The Associate Programme Management Officer role focuses on the implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of programme operations, donor outreach, policy and external relationships, and coordination of training activities.
Tasks Summary
- Facilitate the development, implementation, and evaluation of assigned programmes/projects.
- Monitor and analyze specific aspects of programme/project development and implementation.
- Review relevant documents and reports, identify problems, and recommend corrective actions.
- Liaise with relevant parties and identify and track follow-up actions.
- Conduct research on selected aspects of programmes, operations, and other activities.
- Provide substantive and technical support for policy coordination and evaluation functions.
- Plan and facilitate high-level workshops and coordinate with high-level dignitaries.
- Assist in developing action plans to manage policy and operational work streams.
- Participate in survey initiatives, assist with data collection tool design, and analyze responses.
- Perform ongoing monitoring of programme/project activities and translate data into written reports or presentations.
- Use and maintain complex data collection tools, dashboards, or other tools.
- Prepare written outputs such as draft background papers, analytical notes, and sections of reports.
- Provide substantive support to consultative and other meetings, conferences, etc.
- Undertake outreach activities and participate in the development of donor outreach strategies and campaigns.
- Participate in field missions, providing substantive and administrative support and data collection.
- Coordinate activities related to budget funding, including negotiations with potential donors.
- Prepare programme/project submissions, progress reports, financial statements, and narrative reports.
- Perform other duties as required.
Experience Requirements
- A minimum of two years of progressively responsible experience in donor relations, resource mobilization within the peacekeeping environment, project/programme management, administration or related area is required.
- Experience with using data analysis or business intelligence approaches and tools for informing decision making is required.
- Experience with participating in donor negotiations for voluntary contributions, managing grants, budget implementation and performance is required.
- Relevant experience in the UN common system or comparable international organization is required.
Qualification Requirements
An advanced university degree (Master’s or equivalent degree) in business administration, peace and security, international relations, economics or related field is required. A first-level university degree (Bachelor’s degree or equivalent) in business administration, management, peace and security, international relations, economics or a related field with two years of relevant work experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
