Overview

The Field Team Leader is responsible for overseeing M&E teams' training and fieldwork, monitoring data collection processes, and conducting quality assurance for a Third-Party Monitoring project verifying Conventional Weapons Destruction activities.

Tasks Summary
  • Oversee M&E teams’ training and fieldwork.
  • Conduct after-action reviews after site visits.
  • Monitor data collection processes of M&E Teams.
  • Conduct internal quality assurance and quality control.
  • Ensure regular updates, monitoring, and tracking tools are shared.
  • Assist in the development of M&E tools and frameworks.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of assessments, studies, surveys, and data collection methodologies.
  • Work closely with IPs to ensure project-relevant information is shared promptly.
  • Liaise with IPs to facilitate implementation.
  • Conduct, coordinate, and supervise regular site visits for IPs and prepare mission reports.
  • Provide weekly reports based on site visits.
  • Report any capacity gap related to M&E implementation.
  • Coordinate with IPs to determine evaluation objectives and methods.
  • Complete additional tasks assigned by the Project Manager M&E and Country representative.
  • Coordinate TPM staff activities.
  • Assist the Project Manager in training and nurturing M&E teams.
  • Conduct visits to IP completed task sites.
  • Engage local communities to verify CWD activities and their impact.
  • Analyze monitoring and evaluation processes output.
  • Establish and maintain working relationships with IPs and national mine action authorities.
  • Conduct Quality Assurance and Quality Control during site visits.
  • Report any capacity gap related to information management implementation.
  • Assist the Project Manager in developing M&E training packages and conducting training.
  • Monitor results, in-country evaluation reports, and additional data.
  • Act as security focal point when security staff is not joining field visits.
Experience Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience within the Mine Action Operations and management.
  • Previous experience in either program implementation, coordination, analysis, or monitoring and evaluation are essential.
  • Experience in working in complex and volatile contexts.
Qualification Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in social sciences, humanitarian and/or development studies, or relevant field.
