Overview

Assists the Rations Officer in implementing rations operations and Quality Assurance procedures for the supply of food rations to the Mission. Responsible for record keeping, acquisition plans, and invoice verification for timely payment.

Tasks Summary
  • Assists the Rations Officer in implementing rations operations and QA procedures.
  • Coordinates with rations Contractor, Troops, and logistics components.
  • Assists in developing/updating SOPs related to food contracts and supply chain.
  • Assists in coordinating ERMS implementation and integration.
  • Assists in managing Combat Rations Packs and emergency bottled water.
  • Assists in monitoring consumption, inventory control, stock-checking, and write-off.
  • Provides inputs on Mission requirements, procurement plan, and cost-estimates.
  • Participates in technical survey visits.
  • Provides technical inputs for supply and service contracts.
  • Develops, maintains, and updates software and databases.
  • Assists in implementing internal controls for contingent rations management.
  • Assists in monitoring and analysing contract performance.
  • Assists in the resolution of contractual disputes.
  • Assists in the management, guidance, development, and training of staff.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
Experience Requirements

A minimum of eight (8) years of progressively responsible experience in supply, inventory management, procurement, logistics support preferably in the field of food technology, HACCP, ISO 22000, including at least 3 years at the international level is required. Experience in the use of electronic Rations Management System (eRMS) or similar systems is required. Experience in managing support services in support of or in a field operation of the United Nations Common System or a comparable international organization is desirable. Experience in start-up operations is desirable. Experience in handling rations and catering contracts is desirable.

Qualification Requirements

High school or equivalent diploma is required. Technical certificate in food technology is required. Certification in inventory management and supply management is desirable.

Languages Required: English is required.

Languages Preferred: French is desirable.
