Overview
This temporary position supervises the provision of equipment and supplies from the supply unit to various sectors within the mission. It also implements procedures to ensure a reliable flow of supply for the mission.
Tasks Summary
- - Receive and verify authorized on-line requisitions for stores supplies.
- - Issue supplies to requesting offices/Sections as per approved requisitions without delay.
- - Monitor stock of supplies in the stores and conduct regular stock taking.
- - Prepare reports on discrepancies and inform Supply Officers on supplies requiring replenishment.
- - Ensure items in the supply stores are arranged in an orderly manner and plan for adequate storage facilities.
- - Implement Quality Control/Assurance for contractual terms, costs, and schedules.
- - Assist in raising requisitions for services and items required by the supply stores.
- - Assist Receipt and Inspection Unit (R&I) in receiving and inspecting goods delivered by vendors.
- - Process internal R&I reports for goods in the supply stores.
- - Issue to end user according to established procedures and update stock cards.
- - Assist in weekly reconciliation of receipts and issues.
- - Act as the focal point on UMOJA and conduct periodic inventory verification of UN non-expendable property.
- - Update records in Umoja by processing issue vouchers to individuals/end users of UN property.
- - Assist with ensuring implementation of internal control systems.
- - Prepare write-off requests for property that is lost, obsolete or damaged.
- - Initiate procedures for the receipt and dispatch of all incoming and outgoing shipments of personnel effects for Military Observers.
- - Implement recommendations made by the Occupational Health and Safety Board.
- - Identify and issue advisories to all outstation personnel on health and safety risks.
- - Issue, monitor expiries, and decide for replenishment of all Military Combat Rations.
- - Participate in the acquisition and drafting of preliminary specifications for requirements.
- - Participate in the preparation of technical evaluation committees and presentations to the Local Committee on Contracts.
- - Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Experience Requirements
A minimum of eight (8) years of progressively responsible experience in inventory management, warehouse management, supply chain or related area is required. At least three (3) years of proven working experience in Enterprise Resource Planning Tool (SAP) warehouse module and assets management module is required. Experience in supporting supply services for international peacekeeping or military operations in conflict / post conflict area is desirable. Understanding of international shipping and associated INCOTERM is desirable.
Qualification Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent is required. Valid Driver's License - Minimum 7 tons is required. Technical certificate/Training in at least one of the following areas: inventory/supply management or supply chain management is required.
